Yellow Cab Cupid Shoots his Arrow to be Nice.

New York City is known as one of the most competitive places to date, and in such a cutthroat dating pool what’s a nice single girl or guy to do? Well if you’re lucky, the next time you hail a taxi in NY, your driver will be Ahmed Ibrahim.

Known at the cupid cab driver, Ahmed has spent the past few years acting as a matchmaker for many of his lonely passengers. To date he has set up more than 70 dates, of which 19 led to relationships lasting a year or longer. He also claims to have not had a single complaint.

When asked about it, the 53-year-old cab driver says that he plays matchmaker because it makes him feel good. The method to his matchmaking? He asks passengers a few questions and listens to their responses. After evaluating a passenger's match potential, he exchanges phone numbers/e-mail addresses and puts them in touch with another one of his passengers that he believes might be a potential match.

Not only is it nice to offer matchmaking services for the cost of cab fare, Ahmed goes about it in a very nice way. He makes it a point to weed out any “players” from his group. He wants to be sure that when he sets up a couple, they both are genuinely looking for a relationship and not just a fling.

So if you’re in New York City this Valentine’s Day, be on the lookout for the cupid cab driver. You can spot him by keeping an eye out for his taxi -- the one decorated with white and red hearts and roses in honor of the holiday. Who knows, you could be on the road to finding your soul mate!
